Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Establishes Pausch Scholarship!
Lisa Brown, a first-year graduate student at the Entertainment Technology Center, is one of four recipients of the first annual Randy Pausch Scholarship Fund established by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS). News Release
Carnegie Mellon will celebrate the life and legacy of Randy Pausch with a special memorial event at 4:30 p.m. September 22. Attendance in Rangos Hall is by invitation only, but ABCNews.com will provide streaming video and SCS will host a webcast of the event in Wean 7500. News Release
Ed Catmull, president of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, will accept the first Randy Pausch Prize from Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) and present the keynote address at the 7th International Conference on Entertainment Computing (ICEC) on Sept. 26. Carnegie Mellon System, "Perspectives", Thwarts Internet Eavesdropping! The new system, available as a free download for the popular Mozilla Firefox v3 browser, was developed by researchers David Andersen, assistant professor of computer science, Adrian Perrig, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and public policy, and Dan Wendlandt, a Ph.D. student in computer science.
