I am interested in language understanding, particularly in its applicability to business operations. I’m working for Dr. Robert Frederking, conducting research in the METAL (Message Task Linking) component of the RADAR project. I am currently studying how to extract and handle the relevant information of e-mails that relate to pending tasks.
In a broader perspective I am interested in Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Sciences -- How do humans think? How do children acquire language? I believe Computer Science has a great potential to contribute to an answer to these questions.
For the most part of my previous industry experience I worked in Liquid Design, a Costa Rican web consulting firm. I supervised a team of professionals in Computer Science and Graphic Design. I have also worked independently in freelance projects for designing and implementing information systems - “desktop” and web-based.
