Entourage:

  • Once the account has been created (following the steps on the previous page), open Entourage, click "Entourage", then "Account Settings":

  • Click on the SCS email account, then click "Edit":

  • Click on the button labeled "Click here for advanced sending options" under the "Sending Mail" section:

  • Check the box next to "SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL); check the box next to "Override default SMTP port" and change the value to "587"; then check the box next to "SMTP server requires authentication" and select "Use same settings as receiving mail server":

  • Click the small box in the upper-left corner of the advanced settings box, then click "OK". Close the "Accounts" window, then close and restart Entourage.
You will now be able to send mail to non-cs.cmu.edu email addresses from an off-campus connection.
