The School of Computer Science maintains a volume license for VMware. VMware is virtual machine software for the desktop that runs on Windows and Linux OSes.

  • Available for: Linux, Windows.
  • Who can install it: Faculty, staff, students.
  • Eligible equipment: University owned computers under software licensing support.
  • Type of license: Perpetual.
  • Cost to users: None for Facilities supported machines.
  • Getting access to it: No special access is required.
  • How to get it: Email help+license@cs.cmu.edu.
  • License code required: Yes. It will be sent in email to users along with the URL to download the software.
