Checking your Symantec version

Most Windows computers in SCS already run some version of Symantec's antivirus utility. Use the following procedures to verify the version on your machine.

Symantec Endpoint installed

  1. Hover over the yellow Symantec shield in the lower right end of your system tray, as shown below:

  2. Double-click on the shield.
  3. Click " Help and Support" in the upper right hand window of Symantec Endpoint Protection:

  4. Select " About "

  5. Take note of the version number.

Symantec AntiVirus installed

The same procedure may show you are running Symantec AntiVirus.
  1. Hover over the yellow Symantec shield in the lower right hand side of your system tray. You will see the following:

  2. Double click on the Symantec shield. If you see the following you DO NOT have Symantec Endpoint installed:
