[Support Status] Mac OS 10.12 Sierra

[Support Status] Mac OS 10.12 Sierra

Status: Testing (Not currently supported)

Apple has recently released their next operating system macOS Sierra. While there is nothing preventing you from upgrading, we do not currently recommend upgrading SCS Macs to Sierra at this time.

SCS Computing Facilities is currently working on testing the SCS baseline software with OS X Sierra (10.12). SCS baseline software that is not yet available or tested for Macs running OS X Sierra (10.12) includes:

  • Self-Service App Store
  • OpenAFS
  • Archival Backup Client (TiBS)
  • Matlab

You will receive notification once OS X Sierra (10.12) is supported by SCS Computing Facilities. You can check the current status of support for OS X Sierra (10.12) or any other operating system supported by SCS Computing Facilities at the Support Lifecycle Guide:

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~help/support_lifecycle/

If you have any questions regarding OS X support, please contact the SCS Help Desk at x8-4231 or send mail to help@cs.cmu.edu.
