SCS 2fa Enrollment Sessions: Duo Two-Factor Authentication

The Information Security Office and Computing Services recently announced a Two-Factor Authentication (2fa) service that provides a second layer of protection to increase security of passwords and password protected data, systems and services. 2fa is used as an extra layer of security on any service using Single Sign-On through WebLogin (login.cmu.edu). Some examples of these services include, but are not limited to: Box, Lynda, Workday, SIO/S3, Sparcs, GSuite, Taleo, ServiceNow.

Faculty, staff members, and student employees are required to add the 2fa protection to their university password by April 20, 2017. SCS Faculty and staff who have not yet completed the 2fa registration are invited to attend (no rsvp required) one of the following help sessions offered by Computing Services:

  • Tuesday, March 21, 2017
  • 10:00AM - 12:00PM
  • In front of GHC 4103
  • Tuesday, March 28, 2017

  • Thursday, March 30, 2017

The session will include answering questions and providing assistance with 2fa registration and device set-up.

If you are unable to attend these sessions and would like to register your Andrew account for 2fa, please visit www.cmu.edu/computing/2fa/.
