[Support Status] SCS Dragon - 16.04

[Support Status] SCS Dragon - 16.04

Status: Testing (not currently supported)

On April 21, 2016 Canonical released Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus) as a free download. Since then, Canonical has used a variety of mechanisms to push notifications about the new release to systems running older versions of Ubuntu. This includes the SCS Dragon OS releases which are derived from Ubuntu. SCS Computing facilities does not currently support a Dragonized version of Ubuntu 16.04.

Performing an in place upgrade (via dist-upgrade) will cause a loss of functionality on the upgraded system.

An SCS Dragon - 16.04 release is planned for Fall 2016. Work is currently underway to complete this effort and you will receive notification once the Dragon 16.04 release is generally available.

You can check the current status of support for SCS Dragon (16.04) or any other operating system supported by SCS Computing Facilities at the Support Lifecycle Guide:

If you have any questions regarding SCS Dragon support, please contact the SCS Help Desk at x8-4231 or send mail to help@cs.cmu.edu.
