Wean Machine Room Air Conditioning Outage 11/29/12

Details:

FMS will be performing maintenance on the electrical switch gear that provides power to air conditioning units and lighting on the 3rd and 4th floors of Wean Hall. As a result, the Wean Hall machine room will be without air conditioning for approximately 30 minutes starting at 6AM on November 29th.

To avoid overheating the servers, SCS Computing Facilities will initiate a partial shutdown of equipment located in the Wean machine room. Compute nodes on many of the compute clusters will be powered off before the air conditioning outage to reduce the heat load in the room. Cluster owners will be notified in a separate mailing.
