SCS Web Services Hardware Upgrade

In order to provide better performance, increase availability, and reliability of the School of Computer Science web site, we are switching to a new infrastructure for the www.cs.cmu.edu Web site. In addition to the SCS Web site, this will also affect the ~user pages.

To the end-user, these changes should be transparent. The web site should continue to function just as it has in the past. However, because there are so many legacy and ~user pages, it is difficult to determine what the unintended consequences of this change might be. This change will also affect anyone responsible for editing content for the actual www.cs.cmu.edu site (as opposed to ~user or project pages).
