Critical Windows and MS Office security updates
August 17, 2007
Microsoft released new patches for critical Windows, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Virtual PC security vulnerabilities on August 14, 2007.
* All Windows PCs must be patched. *
To patch your PC:
Click on the update icon on the taskbar (it is a globe or yellow shield with an exclamation point, depending on which version of Windows you're running).
If you do not have such an icon, run Windows Update by going to the site:http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
All Office 2000 users should also go to the site:http://officeupdate.microsoft.com
After patching, you must reboot your PC in order for the patches to take effect.
If you are using Microsoft Virtual PC on Windows, see:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS07-049.mspx
for update information.
If you are using Microsoft Virtual PC on a Macintosh, you should install the latest Virtual PC for Mac update at:http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx#VPC
If you are using Microsoft Office 2004 on a Macintosh, you should install the Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.3.7 Update:http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx#Office2004
