Reminder: Microsoft Windows Daylight Savings Time patch

On Monday February 5th, Windows hosts within the SCS Domain received a Microsoft hotfix that addresses the pending shift in the beginning and end dates of Daylight Savings Time (DST).

The following actions MUST be taken by SCS Windows Domain Users:

Once this operating system patch has been installed, users that maintain their scheduling activities in Microsoft Outlook must run the Time Zone Update tool. This will make the adjustment to all events scheduled in Outlook during the affected time periods.

Note: This tool MUST be run after the operating system patch has been installed and before any new appointments are made in Outlook Calendar.

For full instructions on how to apply the operating system patch and run the Time Zone Update tool please go to:http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~help/dst/outlook2.html

For details regarding the DST changes please refer to:http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~help/dst/dst.main.html

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process, please contact the SCS Help Desk at x8-4231 or send mail to help+@cs.cmu.edu.

Thank you for your attention,

SCS Help Desk
