Final Reminder: VPN and iPass Authentication Change Today
Starting at 3:00 p.m. today, November 28, 2007, users will be required to use their /remote instance and password to authenticate to the SCS VPN and iPass services. Users will no longer be able to use their primary Kerberos user name to authenticate to these remote access services.
*** Please be sure to have your /remote instance and password created before leaving campus for travel. ***
A new web-based tool for managing Kerberos instances is now available and can be used to administer your /remote instance.
Instructions on how to use this tool can be found at:http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~help/accounts_passwords/kerberos.instance.mgmt.html
Or, you can visit the SCS Help Desk, Wean Hall 3613, and we can set up your /remote instance for you.
Please contact the SCS Help Desk at x8-4231 or send mail to help@cs.cmu.edu with any questions or concerns regarding the use or creation of your /remote instance.
Thank you for your attention,
SCS Help Desk
