Microsoft Vista SCS Computing Facilities Recommendations

Microsoft Vista is now available for consumers. SCS Computing Facilities STRONGLY RECOMMMENDS that you DO NOT upgrade to this operating system at this time. Several SCS baseline applications are not yet compatible with Microsoft Vista including:

  • iPass client
  • Cisco VPN client
  • Webroot SpySweeper
  • Symantec Anti-virus
  • Oracle Calendar
  • Kerberos for Windows

SCS Computing Facilities goal is to support Microsoft Vista.

We continue to evaluate the impact of Vista and its current limitations in the SCS computing environment and on other applications that are commonly used. We will make updates to our Vista web pages as data becomes available. We encourage you to check these pages often.

If you have any questions regarding Vista in the SCS computing environment, please contact the SCS Help Desk at x8-4231 or send mail to
