Update: Emergency Shutdown of Facilities Machines

Day/Date: Friday, August 31, 2007

Time: 8:45AM

Service Affected:SCS Machine Room Servers and Public Printing Areas

SCS Computing Facilities have brought the public printing areas back online. The temperature in the Wean Hall machine room (Wean Hall 3611) is stable for now. We have begun to bring Non-Facilities (project) machines back online. Not all project machines are up at this time. We are verifying the stability of the machine room temperature as machines are brought back online.

We will continue to provide updates as needed.

Please contact SCS Operations at x8-2608 or send mail to with any questions or concerns regarding this shutdown.

Thank you for your attention,

SCS Help Desk
