SCS Computing Facilities End of Life for SunOS Version 5.5

SCS Computing Facilities is announcing the end of life for SunOS Version 5.5 as of December 31, 2007. Beyond that date, systems running SunOS Version 5.5 will no longer receive SCS Facilities hardware, software or backup support. Support will be limited to a machine's network connection only.

Your options are:

  1. Continue to use the machine without support. Using the machine without support means that there will be no backups or data restorations available and no hardware or software support. The machine can have an active network connection as long as the network charge remains current.
  2. Outright retirement of the machine will result in the removal of all support charges. The SCS Computing Facilities staff can assist you in physically removing the machine if necessary.
