Color Printer Name Changes
Beginning Wednesday May 30, 2007, the names of the color printers in SCS will be changed to include "COLOR" in their name. This is being done to clearly identify these as color printers. Color printers should be used only when you need color output - not for black and white printing.
spectrum changed to: spectrumCOLOR rainbow changed to: rainbowCOLOR sunbow changed to: sunbowCOLOR prism changed to: prismCOLOR flame changed to: flameCOLOR
Users of Windows and Macintosh systems must delete the old printer name from their local machine's printer settings and add the new printer name shown above. Refer to the SCS printer help pages for instructions at: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~help/printing/index.html
Scroll down to the "How To" section at the bottom of the page to review the instructions for setting up a printer for your Operating System.
For UNIX systems, the new printer name must be used after the lpr command. Printer names are NOT case sensitive.
Example: lpr -P spectrumCOLOR
