Scheduled Campus Power Outage for June 27th, 2006
WHAT: Rolling power outages up to ONE HOUR to many buildings on campus
START TIME: Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 9 P.M. EST
END TIME: Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at 7 A.M. EST
REASON: To allow FMS to transfer building power circuits
BUILDINGS AFFECTED: Newell-Simon, Smith Hall, Hamburg Hall, Doherty Hall, Porter, Baker, Cyert, Warner, Purnell, FMS Building, Roberts Hall, and Scaife
SCS BUILDINGS NOT AFFECTED: Wean Hall
SCS COMPUTING SERVICES: Not affected. But all offices and labs in the affected buildings will lose power for approximately one hour.
CAMPUS COMPUTING SERVICES: Most Andrew services will be unavailable starting Tuesday 5 P.M., with expected restoration of services by Wednesday 3 A.M. Internet connectivity will be maintained.
ACTION REQUIRED BY COMPUTER USERS: Occupants in the affected buildings should shut down and power off their computers when leaving work on Tuesday, or sometime before 9 P.M. that day. The computer UPS battery will not hold power for one hour. Computers that are not shut off gracefully could experience problems when power is restored.
