Air Conditioning Outage in the SCS Machine Room

Ending: 8:00PM Saturday, April 29, 2006

SERVICES AFFECTED: ALL project owned systems, located in the SCS Machine Room, will be shut down.

DETAILS: Work on the chilled water lines is required to support the replacement of the SCS Machine Room air conditioning units that were damaged in the December 2005 flood. This work requires draining of the chilled water lines and the loss of air conditioning in Wean Hall 3611, the SCS Machine Room.

Without air conditioning, only the basic core computing services can remain running during this outage. ALL project owned systems, located in the SCS Machine Room, will be shut down to maintain a safe operating temperature for the core systems.

Services that will be maintained during the outage:

Internet Connectivity, including VPN and iPass
Email: Corvid email servers, UX servers, Exchange Server
Basic Computing and Networking services, including DNS, DHCP, Kerberos and AFS
Windows Domain services
Web Services
Printing
