Dell Battery Recall
As you may have heard, Dell is recalling certain lithium-ion, rechargeable batteries that were used with various models of its portable lines sold between April 2004 and July 2006. There is a possibility that these batteries can overheat, which could pose a risk of fire.
Although the number of incidents has been small, all faculty, staff, and students in SCS should check their Dell laptops for affected batteries and request replacements. Dell is prepared to dispatch a replacement battery upon the receipt of the replacement order. Customers will be asked to return their old batteries to Dell to ensure proper disposal. A postage-paid envelope will be provided to do so.
To check if your battery is affected, please go to:https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com

These batteries were also sold as replacement batteries for the models listed on the Dell website, given above. Please be sure to check your battery if it has been replaced since the original purchase.
