The provider for the SCS toll free 800 number modem service has changed from Qwest to Paetec. Users calling from the US/Canada should not notice any changes. Users should still be able to access the SCS toll free modems by dialing 1-800-782-1187.

Note: For domestic travel we strongly encourage the use of the iPass service instead of the toll free service when possible. For complete iPass information please refer to the SCS Facilities help pages at http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~help/networking/ipass.html .

International access to the SCS toll free modems is not available at this time. We are working with Paetec to provide International access to the SCS toll free modem service. Users in foreign countries can still use the SCS iPass service for Internet connectivity.
