SCS-All SPAM Message

Notification of SCS-All SPAM Message

Recently, there was a message posted to the scs-all mailing list with the subject "FW: [PMX:VIRUS] Returned mail...". Many of you have expressed concern about this message, and whether it really contained a virus.

Because mail to scs-all is distributed widely, SCS Computing Facilities takes extra precautions to insure that no SPAM or viruses are sent through this alias. All mail sent to scs-all is checked by our anti-SPAM and anti-virus services. In this case, the message originally contained a virus, but it was removed by our anti-virus server and marked as such. The message that you received did not contain a virus.

In order to prevent this type of message from being delivered in the future, no message marked as a virus will be delivered through the scs-all mailing list.
