Service Outage: SCS Network Maintenance Scheduled November 20th, 2005

The following announcement is made by SCS Computing Facilities:

On Sunday November 20th, a reboot of the core SCS router will occur.

TIME OF EVENT:1:00 a.m. EST - 1:30 a.m. EST

AREAS AFFECTED:All areas of the SCS network

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The core SCS router will be rebooted to install a new version of the operating system that addresses recent security advisories.

During this time, both local and external network connectivity (both commodity and Research) will be unavailable for brief periods.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

During this outage, Computing Services will upgrade network equipment software to address recent security advisories.
