Install the VPN client for MacOS

Before installing

You will need a /remote Kerberos instance and password to use the VPN software. If you do not already have those credentials, you can use the SCS Web-based tool to create or manage Kerberos instances for use with VPN and other remote-access systems.

Procedure

Note: You will need administrator permissions to complete the installation. The installation kit includes the new profile and certificates. Thus you need not run the certificate-upgrade script after installing the client.

MacOS versions 10.1 through 10.3

Download the files:

MacOS Power PC version 10.4 (Tiger) platform and MacOS Intel platform

Download the files:
  • MacOS Universal VPN client install kit [DMG file, about 15 MB, Version 4.9], client for the MacOS Tiger Power PC and Intel systems
  • README.SCS containing SCS-specific installation instructions for the MacOS VPN client on both the 10.4 PowerPC and the MacOS Intel systems
Note: The VPN certificates are now installed automatically if you have problems with the VPN certificates call the SCS help desk at x82607 or help@cs.cmu.edu.
