Install the VPN client for MacOS

Before installing

You will need a /remote Kerberos instance and password to use the VPN software. If you do not already have those credentials, you can use the SCS Web-based tool to create or manage Kerberos instances for use with VPN and other remote-access systems.

Procedure

Note: You will need administrator permissions to complete the installation. The installation kit includes the new profile and certificates. Thus you need not run the certificate-upgrade script after installing the client.

Download the installer and associated README file for your version of MacOS from the networking downloads page. Follow the directions in the README file for SCS-specific installation instructions.

Note: The VPN certificates are now installed automatically if you have problems with the VPN certificates call the SCS help desk at x82607 or help@cs.cmu.edu.
