Copying old email messages to the IMAP server using Entourage
To copy email to the IMAP server, you must first configure Entourage to read mail from the new server. Click here for step-by-step instructions on how to configure supported email clients (including Entourage) to read mail from the new server.
- Once you've added the IMAP server to your Entourage configuration, open a local folder, then type the [command-a] hotkey combination (hold down the apple key while typing the letter a) - this will select all messages within that folder.
- To move messages to the IMAP server, simply drag and drop them to the desired folder. (To copy the messages, use the "copy" command in the edit menu, then select the new folder and select "paste" from the same menu.) Remember, the Inbox is the root folder on IMAP - all folders must be created within it.
Note: Be careful not to transfer too many emails at one time. More than ~600 emails may cause the client to freeze.
