Microsoft Exchange
While Corvid is the recommended email system in the SCS environment, we also offer a Microsoft Exchange email server for users with specific needs (such as calendaring, groupware, etc.). If you would like an account on our Microsoft Exchange email server, please contact the Help Desk.
Accessing the Exchange Server by Web
The SCS Exchange server has an integrated web client called Outlook Web Access (OWA). If you have an Exchange account, you may use OWA to view your mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, or other data stored in your Exchange account.
Exchange users can access the OWA at http://mail.exchange.cs.cmu.edu/.
Accessing Exchange With Outlook
If you would like to access your Exchange account from a desktop or laptop, you will need to configure Outlook. Outlook should already be installed on computers built by SCS Computing Facilities; if Outlook is not installed on your computer, please contact the Help Desk.
Users with SCS-configured Windows computers can use the following instructions to configure Outlook to access the Exchange server:
- Configuring Outlook 2010 on a Windows computer in your office
- Configuring Outlook 2010 on a Windows computer off campus
Users with SCS-configured Mac computers can use the following instructions to configure Outlook to access the Exchange server:
