Configuring Outlook 2010
Running Outlook for the First Time
If you are running Outlook for the first time, Outlook will first present the welcome dialog to the Outlook Startup Wizard: 
Click "Next" to continue.
Setting Up an Email Account
Select "Manually configure server settings or additional server types": 
Click "Next" to continue.
Verfying the Server Type
Verify that you want to create an account that connects to a Microsoft Exchange server: 
Click "Next" to continue.
Configuring Outlook to Connect to the SCS Exchange Server
To configure Outlook to connect to the SCS Exchange server, use the following settings:
Server: exch-mb-1.srv.cs.cmu.edu
Use Cached Exchange Mode: checked
User Name: Your SCS Username
Click on "More Settings..." to bring up the advanced configuration dialog box.
Advanced Configuration: Outlook Anywhere
In the advanced configuration dialog box, make sure that "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" is checked: 
Click on "Exchange Proxy Settings..." to bring up the Proxy Settings dialog box.
Advanced Configuration: Proxy Settings
To set the proper Outlook proxy settings, use the following settings:
Proxy URL:mail.exchange.cs.cmu.edu
Connect using SSL only: checked
On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP: checked
On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP: checked
Proxy authentication: NTLM Authentication
Click "OK" to close the Proxy Settings dialog box.
Click OK" to close the advanced configuration dialog box.
Click "Next" then "Finish" to complete the configuration.
