My research focuses on trying to improve student learning outcome using Intelligent Tutoring Systems, combined with Adaptive Hypermedia, Cognitive Theory and Cognitive Modeling. I am also aiming to develop novel technologies for Web-based computer-aided instruction. My advisors are Vincent Aleven and Peter Brusilovsky.
I am currently a Ph.D. student in Computer Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University, and I am also taking part in the the MAP-i doctoral program in Computer Sciences. I am participating in the CMU-Portugal dual degree doctoral program, and my host university in Portugal is the University of Minho, Braga.
