Hi! I serve as "Editor-in-Chief" of on-line productions in the School of Computer Science, with the goal of producing a continuous presentation of the School and its work to potential students, faculty, alumni, and funding agencies. I provide leadership in areas of technical and creative development; design, production, testing, maintenance and prioritization of web enhancements to meet organizational marketing and communication objectives.

I'm currently working with the newly formed External Relations group to develop an overall marketing strategy for the website design.

Before I came to Carnegie Mellon, I worked at the UNC Chapel Hill's Department of Computer Science, managing the Virtual Reality Outreach Program. The program is designed to encourage kids to study math and science. When they come, two graphics graduate students explain the concept of virtual reality. Then the kids try on a head-mounted computer display and immerse themselves in a virtual environment. You can see some great pictures of the kids as they venture into cyberspace. We would then take them on a tour of our computer museum and then up into the Graphics and Image Cluster laboratory where there are all sorts of vr research projects. There's also a great HMD museum that shows the evolution of HTM technology over the years, culminating in the HiBall Tracker developed at UNC. Find out more about the vr demos at:

PERSONAL:

Randy and I are expecting our first child in February 2002. Here's the ultrasound when the baby was 12 weeks. Play the game of find the baby in the ultrasound.

I tried to spend as much time as possible with my niece Hannah and her brother Jacob. See Hannah at her third birthday party.

I have two sweet chow chows who love to go for walks and chase squirrels. Suki is my female chow who is shy, but very fluffy and cute. Zen is the male and is very friendly.

Our house in Shadyside is a 15 minute walk to Carnegie Mellon and a couple of blocks from Walnut Street with its shops and restaurants.
