I am an instructor in the IDeATe program, an interdisciplinary program at Carnegie Mellon University which brings together students from all schools to develop combined practices in art, design, technology, engineering, science, and the humanities. My speciality is Physical Computing, and I teach courses which combine robotics, engineering, drama, and art. My home department is the Robotics Institute within the School of Computer Science.

My art practice includes dynamic fabric robots and other performance machines. My robotics research interests include human-robot interaction, minimalist mechanisms, compliant manipulation, and legged locomotion.
