I am a Ph.D. candidate in Language and Information Technologies at Carnegie Mellon University. After receiving B.E. and B.A. from Tianjin University in 1996 and M.E. from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999, I joined the Language Technologies Institute, School of Computer Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. 

My research interests include Natural Language Processing, in particular Machine Translation and Information Extraction, Text Mining, Spoken Language Processing and Statistical Machine Learning. My special research focus, i.e., my thesis research topic, is on named entity extraction and translation from multimedia documents.
