================================ REPORT FOR JULY - SEPTEMBER 2008 ================================ TECHNICAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS () Extended and finalized the advanced search mechanism for the integration of ST Module with CM Radar. () Extended and finalized the mechanism for the automated placement of vendor orders. () Investigated the application of the developed techniques to the problem of semi-automated processing of schedule-related e-mails, and developed a prototype system for this task, which was a joint effort with Anthony Tomasic's group. () Integrated the new version of Space-Time Module into the Radar architecture and tested it with human subjects. IMPROVEMENTS TO PROTOTYPE () Finalized the work on the integration and testing of all main components of Space-Time Module. () Developed an initial version of the stand-alone Space-Time Module and integrated it with a suite of auxiliary tools, such as the conference scenario editor and parameter editor. This version can be demoed and distributed without the overall Radar architecture. PROJECT PLANS () Extend and finalize the stand-alone version of Space-Time Module. () Extract key algorithms from the implemented Space-Time Module and deliver them as separate re-usable packages. These algorithms include (1) math and logical operations on uncertain values; (2) elicitation learning; and (3) optimization under uncertainty. () Prepare two journal papers on the new learning results; the first is on the elicitation learning, and the second is on the learning of default assumptions. PROGRESS AGAINST PLANNED OBJECTIVES We have accomplished all planned objectives, which included automated placement of vendor orders, system integration, and evaluation. OBJECTIVES FOR NEXT PERIOD Objective name: Release of Space-Time Module Objective type: Dissemination of results Description: Finalize the stand-alone version of Space-Time Module Impact: User-friendly packaged system, suitable for distribution and evaluation outside the Radar architecture Objective name: Release of key algorithms Objective type: Dissemination of results Description: Package separately key algorithms of Space-Time Module Impact: Packaged procedures based on the developed algorithms, suitable for the use in other systems
