Our story continues as we find our brave adventurers travelled to the country of Onnwal to assist poor farmers who are being attacked by hobgoblin raiders. The plea heard in Irongate some time ago has been a burden on the heart of kind-hearted Gronk who feels responisble as these were his hobgoblins at one time, before they fell under the control of the evil Scarlet brotherhood.
Being unsure as to where to start their quest, the party chooses an unknown town and begins to gather information about a possible exisiting resistance movement that they can assist. Tyrion speaks with a blacksmith, Anne a stableboy, though neither provides much information. A sneaky search, in the middle of the night, reveals some old signs of resistence, but nothing recent. It's as if the town has lost its will to fight.
The following day, a less subtle approach is taken, as Triben asks West to go find a hobgoblin. Overheard by townsfolk, this requests is percieved as a sign of danger, despite the party's gifts of money and blessed crops, and the town rallies a defense against a possible raid in the church. Attempts to diffuse this situation mostly fail, and it becomes clear that the townsfolk will not resist, and have no interest in help. They fear the brotherhood too much. West returns with a hobgoblin, but the questioning of him finds hin unforthcoming. He is released with a plan to follow him back to his base, but this plan is quickly abandoned.
