I am a PhD student in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University where I am advised by Professor Andy Pavlo. I am interested in database systems and distributed systems. My current research focuses on automatic database tuning using machine learning techniques. I am a member of the Database Group and the Parallel Data Laboratory.

Before starting my PhD, I studied computer science at the University of Washington. At UW, I researched large-scale distributed applications under the direction of Professors Hank Levy, Arvind Krishnamurthy, and Steve Gribble.
