Amway Hate Mail

I used to ignore the hate mail I received from Amway cultists, but I've decided as of May 2001 to publish selected entries as they come in. These notes are very similar to the angry mail I get from Scientologists. The common themes are:

HHUUUMMM..... If Quixtar sucks so much, why would Microsoft invest 240
million in the company AND maintain and run Quxtar's 15,000 page web
site. Oh, and why would IBM invest 80 million in a this company. So
let me think, who am I going to trust??? Some low life loser who
obviously has no right to diss quixtar.... or Microsoft and IBM. Man!
That's a real tough one. I think just maybe I will trust two of the
biggest computer companies in the world. Thanks for posting your web
page so that I could get a laugh from your stupidity and ignorance.

Microsoft has not invested in Quixtar; in fact they have explicitly denied this claim. Amway/Quixtar is simply a *customer* of Microsoft; they pay Microsoft money in return for Microsoft's consulting services. You don't have to take my word for it; you can read Microsoft's own statement at the bottom of this web page: http://www.mlmsurvivor.com/quixlies.htm > Oh, and why would IBM invest 80 million in a this company. Same deal. Think for a minute: why would IBM want to associate itself with Amway/Alticor/Quixtar, a company so widely despised that it has to keep changing its name just to stay in business? > So let me think, who am I going to trust??? Some low life loser who > obviously has no right to diss quixtar.... or Microsoft and IBM. If you really believe that Microsoft and IBM have endorsed Quixtar, you should be able to point me to some public statement to that effect. After all, if they've really invested millions of dollars in Quixtar, surely they'd be talking it up, issuing lots of happy press releases and so forth. They haven't done this. Go ahead and search for such press releases (I recommend using google.com). You won't find any. Neither Microsoft nor IBM is stupid enough to get into bed with these Amway criminals. Sure, they'll sell them computer services for a fee; they'll sell to anyone. But they will NOT allow their name to be associated with Amway or Quixtar. Oh, and thanks for your lovely email. Best of luck selling soap over the web; I'm sure you'll do fabulously. -- Dave Touretzky

Dave,
How is everything going? I hope all is well. I
have a few questions on some comments you had made
about AMWAY and Quixtar.com. First off, where do you
get your "research"? I mean this thing about IBM and
Microsoft not investing money is Quixtar is not true.
They did invest in Quixtar because they understood the
concept and the potential that would benefit them. I
know this because my family are the ones that
influenced that decision so I know that IBM and
Microsoft is supporting Quixtar. As for them not
advertising and bragging about being a joint venture
with Quixtar that is true because Quixtar is a private
business. Not every person can just start their own
business. So therefore they cannot promote the
business oppotunity to everyone. You also say all of
these negative comments about something you have no
expertise or knowledge in. For you to be so negative
and so critical something must have happened to you to
make you act in such a hostile way. I mean the only
thing that could have happened is that you got
involved at one point and didn't do anything to
generate volume in your business so you got frustrated
and gave up. In other words you expected a free ride
and reep all the rewards. Or maybe you let your job
and negative friends and family take control of YOUR
life and tell you that you are dumb if you get
involved with something like AMWAY or Quixtar because
you will get nowhere and never be wealthy, resulting
you to lose hope and your dreams for your future. You
can't let negative people take your dreams away. They
are not the one's who are going to pay for your bills
or support your family. Are they? I have one more
question, at your current job, do they pay you enough
for you to retire young and give you a Permanent
Expenetial Income? I can answer that for you, NO they
don't! I know that (because of Quixtar) I make more
in one month than you do in one year. I am only 22
years old and I don't have to deal with the stresses
of being in debt, or if I have enough to pay my bills
each month, or worry about the possibilty of being
layed-off from work. However, you do though. That is
so sad that you have to put your family through all of
that when you can be financially free. I made my
future stress-free within a matter of months and you
will have to deal with it for the rest of your life.
You do know that the retirement plan was just raised
to 67 1/2 and in another year or so it will be raised
again to 72. People, on the average today live
approximately live to be 90 years old, so you will
only have about 18-20 years to have fun. Although,
being at that age you won't be able to enjoy it
because your bones and old age won't carry you that
far so you can't enjoy life. You will be playing
shuffle board and I will be flying around the world
and enjoying every minute of my 88 years I have left.
It's okay though, the world does need broke people to
keep on working and providing services for the
wealthy. So I will end with Good Luck to you and your
family and for the many years to come and I will be
praying for you.

p.s. You can post this e-mail on your site. I don't
mind at all.

Thanks for writing to tell me of your plans to "go Diamond". It's always delightful to hear from people with ambition and imagination, especially when they show the warm, generous spirit embodied in your message: "Were going DIAMOND you broke LOSER!". I can't tell you how special that makes me feel. Just one question: I see that you two were running the "Heaven's Best Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners" up there in the Walla-Walla Valley area of Washington state. Are you doing Amway on the side? Or have you abandoned that business in order to do Amway full time? I'm adding your email to my web site, as it's a fine example of the kind of business communications Amway IBOs are famous for. Good luck with your business. I'm sure you'll do wonderfully. Best wishes, -- Dave Touretzky

I actually have three Heavens Best franchises and though they do well, they will never give me time freedom. Amway is a great American company I like the products and admire the people It's a shame that people have experienced bad dealings but with a business you have the good with the bad. after reading some of your letters regarding Amway, it appears to me
that you are one of the gutless, lazy, ruthless people in our society
that calls himself a man. Your boss makes money off you, and so should
your upline as an Amway distributor. You seem to have the answers on the
ways to not increase a persons wealth, but nowhere do I see in any of
your letters you divulging any information on how to increase a person's
wealth. Seems to me that you had no work ethic and could not make it as
part of the Amway organization.

Hi, "bca", and thanks for writing! I see you're a fan of the
confrontational approach to Amway correspondence, including the
classic Amway epithets "lazy" and "could not make it in Amway".

I've webbed your letter. Feel free to write me again any time you're
in the mood. I want everyone to hear what Amway distriutors sound
like, in their own words.

Being an academic, I don't have any advice to offer you on how to get
rich. My advice is to find meaningful work you love and are good at.
That is its own reward -- and a better reward than all the dollars
you'll earn from scamming people into buying more soap to keep your PV up.

Have a nice day.

I really think that you are a sick and a very ignorant person to waste your
time and many others with this garbage you present on the internet.
The Amway business like any other business is indeed a business that gives a
person an opportunity to make a living or make a life.
But with the understanding it's totally up to the individual at what he are
she will do with it once they've been given they opportunity. You are like
so many welfare mentality people. feeling as if someone owe you something.
Amway is the most decent business many of us know, and because some of us
that got involved did not do anything with it we want to suck our thumbs and
blame someone else.
There are a lot of people that do not represent this business correctly,
because they never took the time to read and understand what it would take.
When you take on a business you run it. You get good counsel from the people
who have already paved the way not people like you who get off on bashing
success. Get off you lazy bun and go to work for what you want just like
Rich and Jay and so many other IBO's are doing.
