| For about a month we had problems with our electricity. We often cooked to microwave, candle light or flashlight. Good times for sure...hey, at least we had electricity in the part of our apartment that allowed us to cook!! |

We had our first
security drill at the Thorpe's house. It was a barbecue from
the Ritz-Carlton, so it was definitely done up in STYLE! We
rode Segways, played games and had a fantastic meal (hamburgers and
hotdogs).

| So you may have
caught on to a theme of beaches. We found a list of several
and we decided we wanted to try them out. This one had a name
that made us think of Hanson's "MMM Bop" song, so of
course we all had to sing it a couple of times. So while you
are looking through these pictures please feel free to sing!

| The Operations
Department at CMU-Q had a Ramadan dinner at the local
Intercontinental Hotel. This hotel sets up a tent just for
Ramadan. We had great service and a wonderful time with
friends.
The video clip is of a man passing out tea at our table. We can't say we loved the taste of the tea but the teapot was neat! |

| It's come to the end of Ramadan and the town in decorated up with some lights...reminiscent of what we might do at Christmas. We're gonna enjoy some time off and celebrate the end of Ramadan and many Iftars (we're eager to get back to our normal routine). |

Aladdin's Kingdom is
the amusement park in Doha. We enjoyed the fireworks, Chinese
Acrobat Show, 200 street performers (that were brought to town just
for Eid) and a water show.

| You might be getting
tired of beaches but we have a list and our goal is to see them
all. We did add some activity to this trip by purchasing some
snorkeling gear. It makes swimming in the salty gulf a lot
better and we can see the fish.
The bummer about this trip is that Marjorie got stung by a jelly fish. A nice thing was that this beach had a lot of sand and activity. Behind us we had SUV's driving the dunes and four wheelers kickin up some sand also. |

The Thorpe Family kindly invited us to attend the American School's performance of The Music Man. Hannah Thorpe is a junior this year. She is pictured to the left in the middle. |

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to go to a free event at the Sheraton hotel. We spent about an hour walking through and seeing various fossils and learning a lot! |
