Lanny holding Heloise Robertson and John her Daddy

No Fourth of July would be complete without a cookout!  Bob and Ruth Gaus had us over for burgers, potato salad, fruit salad and dessert.  We helped them break in the new grill.

Qatari Wedding

See more pictures from the wedding!

The men and women have separate wedding parties.  We both enjoyed spending time at these shindigs and coming back at the end of the night and comparing notes.  Click on the link to the left to see the groom's party.

The bride's party was held at the Ritz Carlton, by invitation only.  Lots of dancing and visiting was done.  Sorry, no cameras allowed...they even checked purses for camera phones.  All in efforts to stay modest.

Pecan Pie!

David's PawPaw brought us pecans when he visited in January.  We tried a new sugar free recipe and it turned out great!

So we're expecting comments about our content this month.  We must be hurting if we're putting a pecan pie up on the web.

This tells you one thing...the summers are slow in Doha.

Did you ever wonder where dates come from?  These pictures show the various stages of ripeness.  Since we've been here we've eaten chocolate covered dates, dates with almonds and date filled cookies.  We've enjoyed them.
