Murder Mystery
Our friends/neighbors hosted a theme dinner or the Honky Tonk Homicide.  Each participant had a character to be the entire evening and we as a group had to solve the mystery.

David was "Carney Folk" a carnival worker that was passing through town.  Lanny was "Crystalline Daniels" the town tramp.

This month Doha hosted countries from around the Gulf for the Gulf Cup Games.  We went with some friends (Justin, Marjorie and Bill) and enjoyed ourselves watching Qatar play Iraq.  At the end of the game the score was tied 3 to 3.

Funny thing with this experience...Marjorie and I were maybe one of four women in the entire stadium (seats 15,000).  At halftime there was 1) no waiting for the restrooms and 2)  we had men walk in on us when we were washing our hands (the men were mortified!)

Danny's Visit
What a blessing to have my sister visit us here in Doha for Christmas break.  We spent 5 days in Doha and 8 days in Egypt.

Some of the activities in Doha included:  meeting our friends and coworkers at CMU-Q (Danny rode on a Segway), shopping at the traditional market or Souqs (we bargained as if we were in the Jinja market), a desert safari (driving the sand dunes in SUV's--like a roller coaster ride) and a visit to Palm Tree Island for a walk along the beach.

Pyramids
When you think of Egypt you automatically think of the Pyramids...our running joke for the first night in Cairo was that we were gonna "see Egypt" tomorrow as if the Pyramids were the only thing to see.

We were able to see the inside of the third largest pyramid as well as ride a camel around the complex.

Naomi (our new friend) and Danny drink Hibiscus tea!

This was the most relaxing activity of our trip.  We were able to sit back and let Mustafa and Ahmed do all the work for us while we enjoyed the Nile river and a break from being shuffled from place to place.

The nights were pretty miserable but not unbearable. We were cold and couldn't sleep because of dogs on the beach.  We suggest ear plugs and warm sleeping bags!

Temples
Temples, Temples, Everywhere Temples!  We saw a total of 11 temples while in Egypt.  Each temple told a story that kept us captivated and interested in each one for its uniqueness.
