Bob-O-FUN-6: "Okay, I'll follow my comrades out the door." Joe-O-FUN-4: "TREASON! He said the C-word!" Bill-R-FUN-1: "That's something only Commies say!" Fred-R-FUN-2: "Yeah! Let's kill him!" Bob-O-FUN-6: "WAIT! How do you guys know about Commies, anyway?" Joe-O-FUN-4: "Uh..." Bob-O-FUN-6: "It sounds like YOU GUYS are the ones with treasonous knowledge here. I didn't even know that word was treasonous! Maybe *I* should terminate *YOU*!" Bill-R-FUN-1: "But - but - it's COMMON KNOWLEDGE that that word is treasonous!" Bob-O-FUN's argument is one that quite a few new Troubleshooters make, usually when they're trying to weasel their way out of getting killed. If knowledge of treason is prohibited, how do his accusers know that he is treasonous? This question tends to confuse the Troubleshooting team, and they usually end up ignoring the whole incident, worried that any accusation they make might get turned around on them. This is no good at all: if even Troubleshooters, the Computer's most loyal servants, don't dare to terminate treasonous clones, then who will? To resolve this confusion, I've prepared a description of things that everyclone (or, at least, every Troubleshooter) knows: 1) Communists are bad. Friend Computer doesn't like Communists at all. 1a) If you see a Communist, you should terminate him. 1b) There is a word that only Communists use. It starts with "com" and ends with "rade". 2) Mutants are bad, especially unregistered mutants. 2a) If you see someone using a Mutant Power, that person is a mutant, and you should terminate him. 2b) If someone is doing something that he can do but noclone else can, then it is probably a Mutant Power. 3) OUTDOORS sector does not exist. 3a) If anyclone claims that OUTDOORS sector exists, then they are committing treason, and you should terminate them. 3a) There are some things that only occur in OUTDOORS sector, which means that they don't exist either. If anyclone refers to them, that is treason too, so you should terminate them. 3b) If you hear anyclone use a strange word, and you don't know what it means, it might be a word for something from OUTDOORS sector. You should probably terminate them in this case too, just to be safe. 3b-i) Of course, if you are wrong about the above, you'll be terminated yourself. Try not to be wrong. 4) If you ever have a question about whether a given word or action is treasonous, Friend Computer will be happy to tell you about it. 4a) It might be a good idea to be careful about how you phrase the question, though.
