Torin the Fierce, Reason's background Greetings stranger You wish to know my name? Very well, I am Torin, and that is Torin the Fierce if you intend to start any trouble. Reason, stop growling, this man intends no harm. Here, have a piece of meat ... oh I appear to be out, just go hunt for something. Now, back to your questions. To the north not so long the mountains were tame and where my tribe the Dubaltach resided. The Breasal Mountains we called them, but down in these lands you call them the Fiery Mountains. A strong people we were, and I a member of the ferocious fighting force of Dubaltach's Fangs. Still in training yet, and indeed I will stay that way for some time. Merging the arts of fighting with the way of the land, we were the protectors of the tribe. But, I speak too losely of our secrets, for although you seem trustworthy I do not know you well. Ah a great land that was, the crisp chilly morning air both Reason and I miss the most of all the pleasures. Why did we leave and where is my tribe? The long awaited day when the gods of the mountain awoke to shake the earth and spew fire finally arrived. The tribe moved south out of the mountains and into the lands of the Duke. Though the Dubaltach are a strong people, many did not survive that journey. We established a new settlement without delay and send word of our presence to the local ruler, the Duke. Most of the warriors of the tribe remain to defend it from the perils of this land, but I travel to the east to fufill a request of the Duke's for the new tribe to prove their loyalty. Though I was reluctant to leave, the tribe elders bade me go and reassured me that my brothers and sisters will keep our new home safe. Traveling with me is trusty Reason, my companion wolverine. Soon he will grow large enough to be a steed when needed and I'll be able to become a wild creature ... ah once again I speak too freely, my apologies. Up at the bar you can see a newfound companion Lu Tze chugging away ale. A tough man in a fight, I first encountered him being pummeled by two of his monk brethren. Those men listened to Reason though *chuckle*. Even so, the poor soul was banished from his monastary, and good riddance to the monastary if you ask me. Such a group that would banish a worthy man deserves no company. I told him of the Duke's call for help to the west and suggested he travel with me to regain his honor. Ah Reason, that is a lovely deer you brought back! I'm afraid I must part company with you now stranger, for food awaits!
