Round 5 aftermath: Party killed a total of 9 cowbeast zombies - a CR6 encounter. Party defeated some undead dire bats after their Rope Trick ran out - a CR8 encounter. Party drove off Lady Caleria (CR8) and her four CR7 minions, gaining half experience... Then did the same thing the following night, destroying two of the minions just to make the point. Party gains 3750 experience each, which I believe puts you at seventh level. ------------- Loot gained: Various equipment bought and sold at The Shining City Two magic longswords Two nonmagic chain shirts ------------- The party is now camped outside The Citadel. The clerics have announced that your curse can only be lifted by the Shield of Prator, which lies at the feet of Sir Arthur Diamondblade, in the fallen fortress Necropolis. (Well, there was some discussion of casting Miracle to lift the curse. This would likely have manifested Pelor directly to fight Vecna the Necromancer, likely with unpleasant effects when the party's armor drew their life force to power its spells. Also, the clerics _really_ wanted you guys to fetch that shield back...) The clerics have asked you to travel to Sunwatch to rescue their captured rescue parties. They say that they realize your true destination is Necropolis, but they've lost a lot of good people there and are kind of hurting; help would be appreciated. The clerics have offered you free purchase of magic items, with 75% tradein on old items. Gridley receives a 25% discount for purchasing items that are "important" to his profession (ie, holy water, healing effects, items of undead turning). The Citadel is large and wealthy; you should be able to purchase almost anything here without too much trouble. Additionally, the clerics are willing to cast Greater Restoration spells to restore your drained hit points. Everyone who has money should take this opportunity to buy and sell equipment. Party might also consider methods for travelling to Necropolis. There is no road; the obvious route would be to take a boat upriver. ------------- Sunwatch is on the path from The Citadel to Diamond Mountain. I apparently forgot to mark it on my original map.
