From Elan: > I am curious to know the outcome of their > divinations; Heironeous and his priests are, surely, not as obtuse as > their warrior servants. A balanced question in a Commune should reveal > the truth easily enough, but only if they will ask it. Heh. I had completely forgotten about divinations myself until last week, when Carl asked me why the Blueport druids hadn't used them. (Apparently they had forgotten too...) Arator will carry your suggestion to the Shining City. > For now, I say that none of us will turn ourselves in. Ivellios kinda gulps and agrees. You think he was impressed by your argument. Or possibly intimidated. More likely impressed, though. ----------- From Gridley: > recognised him he wouldn't have let the body be destroyed - he would be > fully aware of Speak With Dead and other spells) and the Kobold. Between > Arator, Nailo (who will no longer detect as evil) and the cleric, Note that Speak With Dead is necromancy, and thus taboo. (There have been incidents where casting this spell on a corpse caused it to do more than simply answer questions...) Hieroneous, being Lawful, refuses to provide it to his clerics at all. Pelor will give it to you, though, if you have a good reason for asking. Note also that there is nobody in the Shining City who can cast Resurrection. > much of the night as possible in the Rope Tricks, and in the morning escort > Arator as close to the city as the army will let us get. He goes on ahead, > we retire to the bunker and wait. (Etale can identify some stuff for us, > etc.) I wonder how you plan to determine how close to the city the army will let you get. Once they charge, it will be too late... --------------- From Etale: > We need to find someone who > knows how to banish this evil and do so asap. The Shining City is the > center of arcane and divine knowledge, so even if going there is risky, > it's the only way to find "help". This is not true. The Shining City is Diamond Island's center of military might. It is not a center of knowledge of any sort. For arcane knowledge, go to the Tower of Fangs, to your south; for divine knowledge, try The Citadel. > Teleport Wizards who regularly used Teleport kept mysteriously vanishing. Minor divination claimed they weren't on the Material Plane any more. Major divination revealed that they had been captured by undead creatures called "Devourers" which dwell on the Astral Plane. Apparently there are quite a lot of them there; they like the negative energy aura from your island. Wizards have high Intelligence. It did not take long at all before they stopped using Teleport. > Elan brought up the good question of > 'what happens if one tries to teleport/ dimension door through a barrier'? Teleport is likely to get you killed. Dimension Door through a barrier works fine as far as you know.
