Results from round 3: The party stunned and subdued an enraged herd of 10 cowbeasts. After modifications for the cowherd and for needing to make subdual attacks, this worked out to CR 8. I had expected you guys to use deadly force here, actually; your restraint is laudable (and earned you extra experience). The party defeated Edward the Merchant (again), a CR 7 encounter. This time they cremated him and buried the ashes in little piles, to make sure he would stay dead. The party hunted down and killed Dakkon Deathbringer, the skeletal warrior, and buried his sword Deathbringer somewhere deep. In total this was a CR 7 encounter. The party lost Nailo in the battle with Dakkon, but regained her shortly afterward as she reanimated as an undead. After a short and painful battle they laid her to rest again. This was slightly more than a CR 7 encounter. The party successfully recruited an aasimar paladin to replace the lost fighter. This is a 500xp experience award for clever role-playing. The party gains 2850xp, making it just barely eligible for level 6. The paladin is considered to have begun with 12000xp; he now has 12500xp, putting him half a level behind the rest of the party. --------------------- A note: with Nailo's demise, the curse on your armor has grown stronger. There are now only seven life forces carrying the curse. If too many more original characters die, the consequences may be regrettable. --------------------- Loot gained: 30 diamonds converted to orihalcon bars (components for item crafting; worth 500gp to magic item merchants) Deathbringer, the Huge greatsword (buried) Nailo's severed head, and loot from the accompanying body Identify results: Lord Morgan had a Wand of Invisibility (22), a Wand of Undetectable Alignment (30), and a Wand of Mage Armor (25). Apparently he did _not_ have another wand of Inflict Light Wounds - my mistake. --------------------- The next game is next Sunday at noon, again in the CS lounge. I would like players to bring two copies of their character sheets - one to play, and one for my archives.
