Advanced Placement Computer Science:

Useful Web Pages (IMHO)

AP Central -- The College Board AP Site
    by The College Board
The official web page of The College Board, with the latest information related to the AP Computer Science course. This information includes course descriptions, Exam information, free response questions from previous years, grade distributions, case-study materials, and teacher resources. This is the place to start if you are looking for anything related to the APCS
The Unofficial Advanced Placement Computer Science Home Page
by Chris Nevison, Colgate University, former Chief Reader
The purpose of this page is to provide a site where teachers of college introductory computer science courses and high school advanced placement computer science courses can exchange ideas and materials for teaching computer science at the college introductory level.  On this page you will find materials developed by other teachers which they have found to be helpful in teaching computer science at this level.
Owen Astrachan's Web Page
by Owen Astrachan, Duke University, former Chief Reader
A page with links to Java in the AP, C++ in the AP, patterns, and many of his talks which are always infomrative and helpful.
Joe Bergin's Web Page
    by Joe Bergin, Pace University
Joe has a host of materials relating to computer science at the introductory level.  These include materials from his introductory courses.  This is the source for Karel++ and Karel J. Robot, both of which I have used extensively.  He also has some good materials about Java as a language for those who want to get more information. This is a good place to start for someone who is starting to think about Design Patterns in programming.
Alyce Brady's APCS Page
    by Alyce Brady, Kalamazoo College
These are materials organized for APCS by Alyce.  They include a link to her own APCS workshop page, links to her introductory course pages, and several other links to useful APCS materials.  Among the most useful are her pages related to the APCS Marine Biology Case Study. Alyce, in the Computer Science Department at Kalamazoo College, is currently a member of the APCS Development committee and a College Board Consultant for APCS.
