It's that time of year! After a long, hard, summer spent in some distant, treacherous, locale, it's time to catch up with your old friends (or advisor, or advisees!). Reward yourself for surviving three months at the beach by attending the Welcome (Back) TG. Meet the fresh young Batch of EagER students too. Note: folks who stayed in Pittsburgh for the summer are also welcome. :) New students: Because the TG is an IC event, you must attend the TG in order to receive credit for the Immigration Course. We apologize most sincerely for any trouble this might cause you. [1] What: The Welcome (Back) TG Who: You When: 4:30pm, TODAY (Fri Aug 30th) Where: Perlis Atrium, Newell-Simon Hall Why: Why not? Q: Who are you? What's this Dec/5, Inc.? A: Dec/5 is the student organization for computer science. We're responsible for all sorts of cool things, like TGs, the coke machine in the, and the very fine Guide To Living in Pittsburgh. You can learn (a little) more about us at www.cs.cmu.edu/~decfive/. Q: So what the heck is a TG anyway? A: A TG (short for TGIF, short for "Thank God It's Friday") is an opportunity to eat, drink, and be merry with your colleagues for a couple of hours on a Friday (usually, anyway) afternoon. We provide light food and dark beverages. You make it fun. Q: TGs are cool. How can I help? A: Join the Dec/5 TG Squad. Just email us! (decfive@cs.cmu.edu) Q: You've probably got a bunch of people already. You don't need me, right? A: Au contraire! In accordance with the Dec/5 charter, members are limited to one year of service. That means we need -you- to replace the outgoing members. Q: Yo, the beverages suck. Can't you do any better? A: Excellent question. Join Dec/5 and you can choose what -you- like! [1] No, not really.
