| Ice Skating / Phipps Conservatory |
The Outdoors Schenley Park Ice Rink is located minutes from the Computer Science Department. We will have an hour of skating and then head over to the Phipps Conservatory for a coffee break. As an alternative to skating, we will take a walk through the museum. The Conservatory is a great place right across the street from the Computer Science Department, and admission for students of Carnegie Mellon University is free. We'll also walk to Craig Street, which is the nearby college-town coffee-shops-and-lunch-places district. Time permitting, we can also do a short campus tour. |
| Gates Building/Apartment Tour I, II, III |
Take a tour of the new Computer Science building which will be completed this Fall! We will also visit three apartments - one of the great things about being a graduate student in Pittsburgh is quality, inexpensive housing; the majority of students live in one of two neighborhoods, Shady Side and Squirrel Hill. |
Saturday afternoon activities: You may sign up during the TG on Friday afternoon in the lounge or on Saturday morning in the Newell-Simon Atrium. Space is limited on the Gates Building Tour and Apartment Tours. |
