The Immigration Course is an introduction to the CMU Computer Science Department, organized for the incoming Ph.D. students. The first two weeks of the IC include a series of short research presentations by CSD faculty, an overview of computing facilities and other department resources, and several parties and activities that allow students, staff and faculty to get to know each other socially. It is an intense and fun introduction to the science, culture, values, and people that make CMU Computer Science unique. The two-week core IC is followed by a weekly seminar series that gives a broader overview of the School of Computer Science.

The schedule is organized and maintained by John Lafferty, the social activities are coordinated by Dushyanth Narayanan, and the webpages are maintained by Spiros Papadimitriou.
