======================================= = = = Info About Loading the Coke Machine = = = ======================================= First version: 8/05/98 - Chuck Rosenberg Last revision: 8/27/02 - Chuck Rosenberg --------------- Some Background --------------- The coke comes in cases - each case contains four 6 packs. The coke machine contains columns. Approximately 1.25 cases fill a column. If you are going to be out of town - try to tell the current coke meister so your shift will be covered. ----------------- Loading the Dolly ----------------- 1) Before picking up some cases of soda to load, look around a little (or follow the note in the closet) for the older sodas - there is an expiration date on the bottles 2) To make sure you have enough soda to load the machine load up the dolly with the following: 4 cases of coke 3 cases of diet coke 1 case of orange 1 case of water 1 case of sprite 1 case of iced tea 1 case of root beer 3) I always fill the dolly with the same amount of soda each time - usually full cases. I do this because you need to record how many 6 packs were loaded into the machine. If I always start with a fixed amount, it makes it very easy to figure out how much I loaded when I get back to the closet. ------------------- Opening the Machine ------------------- 1) unlock it 2) unscrew the lock until the front door opens ----------------- Loading the Sodas ----------------- 1) make sure you are loading the right soda in the right column - take a look at the last soda left in the bottom of the column and the labels on each column 2) for the back columns: - put the soda in the column with the cap side toward the back of the machine and make sure that the bottle is pushed all the way back for the front columns: - put the soda in the column with the cap side toward the front of the machine and make sure that the bottle is pulled all the way forward ---------------------------------------------------- If someone asks you for a soda while you are loading ---------------------------------------------------- 1) No problem - however the machine does not work while it is open, you can ask them to wait until you are done or you can add their money to the change box and grab a soda from one of the columns ------------------- Closing the Machine ------------------- 1) close the from door of the machine and screw the lock in until the is clamped reasonably tight - and then push it in to close it, do not over tighten it, ask it can break the lock --------------------------- Recording the Amount Loaded --------------------------- 1) When recording the number of six packs, just round off. 2) Remove the empty crates from the dolly and stack them up in the closet. 3) I usually leave the half full crates on the dolly. Less lifting the next person has to do. ------------------------------------ Automatic Machine Empty Notification ------------------------------------ 1) We still haven't completed the new interface.
