Abstract

The Center For Building Performance and Diagnostics inhabits the Robert L Preger Intelligent Workplace (IW), living (always adapted) and Lived-in Laboratory (monitored and experienced by students, staff and faculty).

Building on the experiences with the  IW we are now designing and engineering the Building as Power Plant/Invention Works (BAPP). This extension of the Margaret Morrison Carnegie Hall will result in the first building which will generate more energy on sit than is brought to it in the form of non-renewable resources.

After a brief introduction of both the IW and the BAPP a special emphasis will be on the opportunities for collaboration on a current project in the IW: the Information Technology Enabled Sustainability Test-bed (ITEST) project.
