interACT is a research institute located jointly in Pittsburgh and Karlsruhe, Germany.

My duties as assistant to the director and the institute coordinator are as follow:

§     Arranging travels and meetings for interACT members

§     Demonstrating our projects during international event as ACL in Barcelona.

Conference Coordinator

4th IEEE International Conference on Multimodal Interfaces

Held in October 2002 with more than 150 attendees. The post conference survey revealed that it was a successful event.

My responsibility as local arrangement chair were to:

§     Select the conference site

§     Negotiate the hotel contract for food, rates, equipment

§     Design the conference material such as daily program, call for papers, posters

§     Organize events during the conference including a gala event and demonstration at Carnegie Mellon University.

Interactive Systems Labs, Carnegie Mellon University:

As assistant to the director my duties and responsibilities included:

§     Designing and maintaining the lab’s web sites (www.is.cs.cmu.edu)

§     Arranging travel

§     Coordinating communication between the lab and other departments, our sister lab in Germany and national agencies.

 

My tasks for the European Nespole! Project were:

§     Recruiting subjects for the speech data collection

§     Recording the participants

§     Evaluating the system conducting a multimodal experiment

 

The International C-Star consortium asked me to:

§     Create a realistic online travel catalog including hotel pages, flight schedules, airport maps, tourist sites.

§     Design and maintain the consortium web site (www.c-star.org)

The company was launching a new product at the 1998 Geneva Respiratory Convention, my tasks were to:
